There had been a day*

There had been a day*

There had been a day
When we did what pleased us,
We had a canoe for us to survey
The lagoon vast,
Uncle had that fishing line,
We had put it into the canoe stealthily
And away we would go,

As would we take us,
And a sweet little canoe,

Rowing like an arrow,
We would go
Catching little fish,

The afternoon thus
We would spend
As far as the day
And the canoe
Allowed us
To go,

We rowed

Overhead perhaps
The clouds gathered,
It might have drizzled a bit,

And we rowed,
As long as the day
Made us
To go,

We rowed
The canoe.
